FBI: Missing kids spotted in Mexico

BOISE (AP) - Authorities say three Idaho foster children who disappeared after a visit with their non-custodial mother have been spotted crossing into Mexico.

The FBI issued a statement Friday saying Amber Alerts in Idaho and Nevada are being canceled after a witness reported seeing the children cross the border with their mother late last Sunday. They were traveling in a grey Pontiac with Nevada license plates.

Authorities say that's the same vehicle 35-year-old Bertha Alicia Guerrero-Lopez was driving when she left southwestern Idaho with the three children, who had been staying at a foster home in Caldwell. Guerrero-Lopez picked up the kids Feb. 17 but didn't return them at a scheduled time the next day.

Police say Guerrero-Lopez has a history of drug abuse and child abandonment.

Authorities are continuing to investigate.
