Atkinson, Meyers help Cards split

MOSES LAKE - Nicole Atkinson hit a two-run home run in the first inning and Ashlen Meyers hit a three-run homer in the third to lead North Idaho College past Western Nevada in the second game 7-4 after losing the first game of a Scenic West Athletic Conference doubleheader 4-3 at Larson Playfield on Saturday.
Jordan Thomas, formerly of Lakeland High, walked and scored in the first game for Western Nevada (11-14, 6-5 SWAC).
Shelby Carter went 2 for 4 with an RBI in the opener for NIC.
Heather Bishop and KaSara Wise had RBIs in the sixth inning of the second game for NIC (12-17, 10-10), which travels to Southern Idaho for SWAC doubleheaders Friday and Saturday in Twin Falls.
