Cards finish sixth

ROCHESTER, Minn. - With one runner-up and five All-Americans total, the North Idaho Cardinals finished sixth in the NJCAA wrestling tournament on Saturday.

Kyle Sweedman lost 4-0 to Jahwon Akui of Iowa Central in the 174-pound championship match.

Ryan Zumwalt lost 3-2 in the semifinals to Devin Aquirre of Labette, but rebounded to finish third at 157 pounds after beating Michael Perez of Iowa Central in 58 seconds.

Michael Rodriguez finished fourth, losing in the third-place match to LeRoy Barnes of Neosho County by pin.

Caleb Rivera (184) finished seventh and Jarrett Morrill (141) was eighth to round out the Cardinal All-Americans.

Labette won the team championship with 161.50 points. Iowa Central was second with 145.
