Deda-Lorentzen

Erik Lorentzen and Autumn Deda, of Coeur d'Alene, are excited to celebrate their marriage this summer with their family and friends.

MILITARY

Marine Corps Pvt. Matthew R. Donkersloot, son of Angela E. Gilbert of Post Falls and Marlyn J. Donkersloot of Post Falls, recently graduated from the Marine Corps Basic Combat Engineer Course at Marine Corps Engineer School, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, N. C.

During the five-week course, Donkersloot received instruction in the fundamentals of engineering support for combat units, including the procedures for building and repairing bridges, roads and field fortifications. Donkersloot also received training on demolition concepts, land mine warfare and camouflage techniques.

Donkersloot is a 2011 graduate of Post Falls High School in Post Falls and joined the Marine Corps in June 2011.

Helen Walton Naslund

95th Birthday

Helen Walton Naslund celebrated her 95th birthday on Feb. 21, 2012, with family.

Daughters are Marjorie Storkson and Lujeanne Conti; and son Jim Walton. Helen has six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

BIRTHS

Mateo Sehen Vargas was born at 2:25 a.m. Jan. 4, 2012, to Amy Vargas of Coeur d'Alene. He weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. and was 21 inches long. Siblings are sister Julie Vargas and brother Cory Bernhart.

Parker Jonathan Tamasonis was born at 12:52 p.m. Feb. 17, 2012, to Rebecca and Marc Tamasonis of Post Falls. He weighed 11 lbs. 6 oz. and was 22 inches long. Sisters are Chelsea and Alex. Maternal grandparents are Mel and Janice Haakinson. Paternal grandfather is Joe Tamasonis.
