MOSES LAKE - Alert to possible criminal activity, a Moses Lake resident made a call to police on Jan. 23 that led to the arrest of two men on charges related to theft.

The two men, Matthew L. Garza, 28, and Fred Mora, 38, were arrested at 4033 Ottmar Road NE. Deputies found them cutting apart a snowmobile trailer behind a home.

The two claimed the trailer was given to them by a friend. Deputies did a computer check and discovered the trailer was reported stolen from a Moses Lake resident.

Garza and Mora were arrested on suspicion of first-degree possession of stolen property and taken to Grant County Jail.

"The citizen who reported these two men did the right thing," Sheriff Tom Jones said. "The citizen felt their actions were out of place."
