Celebrate National Pancake Day tomorrow with free flapjacks, and you can help local kids in need of medical help.

From 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, International House of Pancakes restaurants nationwide will offer each guest a free short stack of its buttermilk pancakes to raise awareness and funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Donations made at the IHOP in Coeur d’Alene, 2301 N. Fourth St., will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ program at Providence Holy Family Hospital, Providence Mt. Carmel Hospital, Providence Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital, Providence St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute, Kootenai Medical Center and Inland Northwest Health Services.

IHOP hopes to raise $2.7 million this year, with a goal to bring the total amount of funds raised to more than $10 million since National Pancake Day began in 2006.
