Update on County Commish candidate

Gerald Arno, 65, a previously unannounced candidate, was one of the first on Monday to officially declare his candidacy.

Arno, a Republican, is seeking election to the District 1 seat on the Kootenai County Board of Commissioners.

Incumbent Todd Tondee has announced he will seek re-election to the position. Marc Eberlein of Post Falls is also campaigning for the District 1 seat.

Arno, who lives in Post Falls, ran for commissioner about a decade ago but was defeated in the primary.
