Ralph Lanny Livingston, 74

Lanny Livingston, 74, of Post Falls, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Dec. 28, 2011. He was born May 25, 1937, in a log cabin in Bozeman, Mont., to Ralph and Gudrun Livingston. At a very young age Lanny's family moved to Post Falls. During World War II his family lived in California where his father worked as a draftsman for Lockheed aircraft. When Lanny was 9, the family moved back to Post Falls where they put down permanent roots.
As a young man Lanny grew up on a farm where he helped raise chickens and supplied the entire region with eggs from their River Run Egg Farm. He worked in various fields including logging, farming, etc. When the Post Falls High School burned down Lanny was not able to graduate. He joined the Washington Air National Guard and it became his life long career. He worked in Avionics at Geiger and later at Fairchild.
In 1958 he married Patricia and started a family. They divorced in 1984 and remained friends.
Lanny is survived by his sister Janice Gleason & family of Newport, Wash,, Patricia Bymaster, his daughter Sandy and husband Russ Vincent, his son Scott Livingston and wife Jackie, his daughter Lanette Livingston-Clark, his son Brian Livingston and wife Christy, his son Mike Livingston and wife Heidi, and his daughter Mary Livingston. Lanny had many grandchildren including Candice, Nick, Cassidy, Trinity, Dakota, Sierra, Dylan, Shelby, Bryson, Drew, Trevor, Blake, Zac, Kelson, Devon, and Chance. Lanny also had two great-grandchildren Brandon and Amelia.
A visitation will be held on Wed., Jan. 4th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 12 p.m. the same day, both at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls. Following the service a reception will be held at Ivalee Hall at Seeley and Seltice in Post Falls. Lanny will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls.
