Bigfork boys 3-0 in 7B basketball play

BIGFORK - Balanced scoring carried Bigfork to a 58-50 District 7B boys basketball victory over a scrappy St. Ignatius squad on Tuesday.

Ian Lorang led all scorers with 15 points. Austin Jordt and Cody Dopps followed with 13 each.

Chris Landon added nine.

Bigfork (5-1 overall, 3-0 league) jumped out to an 18-8 advantage after eight minutes of play, but St. Ignatius did not fold in battling the Vikings for the remainder of play.

Stuart Grant scored 12 points for St. Ignatius.

WHITEFISH - Whitefish's defensive pressure in the first half gave the Bulldogs a big lead en route to a nonconference victory over Eureka.

Whitefish (3-3) led at the half 37-12.

Gage Vasquez tossed in 27 points to pace Whitefish. Cooper Olson scored 17.

Ryan Holder was tops for Eureka with 15.

Josh Bray scored a game-high 27 points and Trevor Holladay 15 as Stillwater Christian School improved to 7-1 with a nonconference victory over the Columbia Falls JV.

Josh Topp and Bray led the Cougars in rebounding with 11 and 10, respectively.

Topp had a team-high three assists and Bray a team-best three steals.

Jared Trinastich led Columbia Falls JV with 16 points. Luke Kazlauskas was next with 10.

ST. IGNATIUS - Melissa VanDerveer powered Bigfork to a District 7B victory over St. Ignatius.

VanDerveer netted a game-high 20 points. She was the lone player to finish in double-figure scoring.

Bigfork led 12-8 and 25-14 after the first two quarter breaks.

COLUMBIA FALLS - Stillwater Christian School pulled away from the Columbia Falls JV in the second half to improve to 7-1 on the season.

Stillwater trailed 12-9 at intermission.

Samantha Red Elk led SCS offensively with 15 points. Jordan Danz tallied 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds.

Morgan Paolini had eight rebounds for the Cougars.

Summer Burlage was the top scorer for Columbia Falls JV with nine points.
