T-Wolves sink eight 3s in low-scoring victory over Moscow

COEUR d'ALENE - Jansen Butler had 13 points, five steals and four rebounds as the Lake City Timberwolves defeated the Moscow Bears 34-24 in nonleague girls basketball play Tuesday night.
"We played well enough to win," Lake City coach Royce Johnston said. "We controlled the tempo in the first half and put it on cruise control in the second half."
Jasmyn Smith added eight points for Lake City (9-5), which made eight 3-pointers.
Taylor Anderson scored eight points for Moscow (5-8).
Lake City travels to Coeur d'Alene High for the Fight for the Fish game Friday.

PRIEST RIVER - Steffie Pavey scored 17 points and had seven steals as the Spartans beat the Lumberjacks in an Intermountain League game.
Liz Halcro scored eight points and Karly Douglas added seven for Priest River (7-4, 2-0 IML), which hosts Kettle Falls on Friday.
Kaytrin Thaut scored seven points and Lakin Anxo added six for St. Maries (2-6, 0-2).
"Priest River was real physical and we couldn't handle the pressure - let's leave it at that," St. Maries coach Jay Sines said.
St. Maries (2-6, 0-2) plays host to Orofino on Thursday.

BONNERS FERRY - Aubree Wasmer scored 14 points to lead the Badgers past the Tigers in an Intermountain League game.
"Bonners Ferry played really well," Timberlake coach Matt Miller said. "They went to a man defense in the fourth quarter and we had trouble with it. We were in control of the game, but they switched and we just crumbled."
Kelly Madsen had 18 points for Timberlake (6-6, 2-1 IML), which travels to Priest River on Jan. 14.

"We shot really poorly in the first half," Lakeside coach Ron Miller said. "It got real tight in the end and Francine Hendrickx hit some shots down the stretch to put it away."
Lexi Turkenburg scored 16 points for Coeur d'Alene Charter (2-11), which travels to Mount St. Michael on Wednesday.
Lakeside (3-7) hosts Wallace on Jan. 12.
