Carleen Chamberlin passed away peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 26, 2011, at Hospice House in Coeur d'Alene. She was born Aug. 24, 1940, in Blue Island, Ill., to Carl and Margaret Schicht.

She met Orion Chamberlin in 1976 while living in Coeur d'Alene and they later married. They lived in Coeur d'Alene, Greenacres, Wash., and Havre, Mont., before returning to Coeur d'Alene in 1999 after Orion retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad.

Carleen was preceded in death by her husband, Orion, on Jan. 3, 2001, and also by her parents.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Gaile and Don Johnson, Santa Maria, Calif.; nieces Kimberly Human, Leslie Livesay and Sharon King; nephew Bruce Nixon; stepsons Robert and David Chamberlin; and stepdaughters Teresa Chapman and Diane Brown.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Carleen's many caregivers over the years.
