Clyde E. Foote 64, of Hamilton

Clyde E. Foote, 64, of Hamilton passed away Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. 

He was born Aug. 21, 1947, in Tensed, Idaho, the son of Gene and Maxine Foote of Troy, Mont.

Clyde was raised and educated in Troy and Libby, graduating from Libby High School in 1965.  He then attended Spokane Community College for two years.  Clyde joined the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Dept. on Jan. 1, 1973. 

He retired as Detective Sergeant of Homicide in the early 1990s.

Clyde moved to Hamilton where he enjoyed making flies, fishing, woodworking, and four-wheeling with longtime friends, Myron and Larry. 

He was proud of his affiliation with the Masonic Order.  Clyde was a member of the Bagdad Shriner’s in Montana, the Nile Shriner’s in Washington, he served as Past Master of Peninsula Lodge No. 95, Everett, Wash., Past Master of Ionic Lodge No. 38, Hamilton, Mont., and was a member of Leona Chapter No. 31, Hamilton. 

Clyde was also a life member of the Master Masons Club of Snohomish, Wash.,, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Hamilton.

Clyde was preceded in death by his first wife of 34 years, Maxine (Garrett).  He is survived by his wife Gloria (Goucher McVeigh) Foote of Hamilton; his daughter, Michelle (Paul) Rempa of Freeland, Wash.,; his son, Gary (Tawnya) Foote of Honolulu, Hawaii, step-children, Andy (Stacey) Brager of Arlington, Wash., and Diane (Tom) Spear of Duvall, Wash.; grandchildren, Azrael, Savanah, Jade, William and Kelsey; his brothers, Butch (Julie) Foote of Libby, Ron (Arvi) Foote of Thermopolis, Wyo., and Ken (Sherrie) Foote of Napavine, Wash.,; his sister, Marcia Foote of Kalispell, Mont., and many nieces and nephews.

Clyde was as good of man as you would ever hope to meet.  His presence will always be missed by the many who called him friend.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at the Daly-Leach Chapel with a reception following at the Masonic Lodge. 

The family suggests that memorials be made in Clyde’s name to Ionic Lodge No. 38, Hamilton, Mont., or to the Montana A Cappella Society, P.O. Box 1468, Hamilton, Mont., 59840.
