COEUR d'ALENE - Trial has been moved to this spring for a 32-year-old Bayview man accused of using a hammer and knife to attack a neighboring family.
Larry W. Cragun's trial was to get under way this month in front of 1st District Court Judge Benjamin Simpson in Kootenai County.
Now the 10-day trial will begin April 2, according to court documents filed Wednesday. Simpson said this will be the last time the date is continued.
The two sides need more time to prepare and identify expert witness, documents said.
Cragun stands accused of bursting into a mobile home next to his overlooking Lake Pend Oreille and brutally attacking four people, killing one.
He is charged with multiple felonies related to the attack, including first-degree murder for the death of 43-year-old Patricia Heath.
Heath's mother-in-law suffered serious head injuries, while two other family members received less serious wounds.
Cragun was indicted by a grand jury a year ago, and he has pleaded not guilty. The alleged attack occurred in December 2010.
