Beverly J. Harmon, 83, of Rathdrum, passed away Jan. 9, 2012, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene. She was born Oct. 3, 1928, in Canton, S.D., to Eli and Leone (Taylor) Payne. Beverly grew up in Canton and graduated from Canton High School in 1946. 

On Feb. 2, 1947, she married Milo "Mike" Harmon in Canton. While in Canton, Beverly worked at a manufacturing plant. Mike passed away in 1985 and after Beverly retired, she moved to Post Falls in 1991 to be close to her daughter. Beverly was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 143 of Post Falls and also enjoyed crocheting and watching the wildlife outside her home in Rathdrum.

Beverly is survived by her daughter, Peggy Kellum of Post Falls; three brothers, Arlo Payne, Charles Payne and Duane Payne; grandson Jason Bultena and longtime friend John Cooper.
