Labrador's service academy nominations

Several area residents are on the the list of students nominated by Idaho Rep. Raul Labrador's office to enter the United States Service Academies.

The following nominations were announced Monday:

U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, New York - Kylie Johnson, Coeur d'Alene; Nicholas Gosselin, Post Falls;

U.S. Military Academy, West Point - Zachary LaBenne, Hayden; Parker Mathews, Rathdrum; Parker Heisey, Coeur d'Alene; Travis Griffard, Coeur d'Alene;

U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis - John Gil Givens.

"The privilege of nominating motivated and capable young Idahoans to our Nation's Service Academies is one of the most enjoyable aspects of being a Congressman," Labrador said, in a message forwarded from his office. "I have the highest personal respect for these dedicated men and women who aspire to serve our country and offer them my heartfelt congratulations on achieving this momentous milestone in their lives."
