Beverly R. Steiner 83, of Shelby, Mont.

Beverly Rae Steiner, 83, passed away at the Marias Medical Center in Shelby, Mont.,  on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011.

She was born May 27, 1928, in Los Angeles, Calif., and lived in the LA area until the end of her junior year of high school. 

She completed high school in Pennington, N.J., in 1946.  Beverly graduated from Syracuse University magna cum laude in 1950.

She married Robert (Bob) William Steiner in Ringoes, N.J., in 1950.  They traveled to Montana and worked on a dude ranch in Polebridge. 

In September, they moved to Missoula where she worked for Camp Fire Girls of America. 

In 1953, she and Bob moved to Powell Ranger Station where they resided until 1958.  They moved to Troy in 1958 and then to Hamilton in 1964.  She resided there for the remainder of her life.

After her husband’s death on March 29, 2001, she married Roger Kensler in 2003.  They spent much of their time traveling to visit family and their favorite destination Hawaii.

She was active in Scouting with both her sons and always was a fan of local sports. 

She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church, Republican Women, Eastern Star, and P.E.O.

She is survived by her husband Roger of Troy and sons, William Robert Steiner and his two children Robert and Elian Steiner of Portland, Ore., and Paul Collins Steiner and his wife Sandra and their two children, Marie and Kevin Steiner, of Shelby, Mont.

A Memorial Service celebrating Beverly’s life will be held at the Troy United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012. 

Donations may be made to “WINGS” at 1st Montana Bank in Troy.
