COEUR d'ALENE - Danielle Failor had 18 points and eight rebounds as the Post Falls Trojans beat the Lake City Timberwolves 40-35 in a 5A Inland Empire League game on Tuesday night.

"Defensively, I thought we played well," Post Falls coach Marc Allert said. "And to hold both (Jasmyn) Smith and (Jansen) Butler to six points was great for us. We had to make some plays up on the fly, but I thought our kids executed well getting the ball inside to Dani."

Brooke Litalien scored 10 points and Lexi Smith had five points for Post Falls (9-5, 2-2 5A IEL), which travels to Coeur d'Alene on Friday.

Hailey Jackson scored 11 points and Maggie Heidenreich added nine points for Lake City (9-7, 0-3), which hosts Lewiston on Friday.

Post Falls beat Lake City 44-37 at home Nov. 22.

"We just made too many mistakes tonight," Lake City coach Royce Johnston said. "They played pretty good defense and we had our chances, but we kept turning the ball over. We just didn't play well enough to win."
