Norman F. Harris, 83, resident of Osburn, died Jan. 1, 2012, at the Mountain Valley Care & Rehab Center in Kellogg. Norm was born Dec. 28, 1928, in South Shore, Ky., to David and Ida (Adkins) Harris.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Norm married Manon on Nov. 17, 1972, in Michigan and they moved to this area in 1974 from Detriot, Mich. Norm was a product manager in the retail grocery business most of his working life.

After moving here he helped his wife at their restaurant "Manon's Café" in Rose Lake for nine years and also sold commercial light bulbs. He was a member of the Kellogg American Legion. They attended the Community Bible Church in Pinehurst.

Norm is survived his wife, Manon at home; one son, Derrick of Detriot; one daughter, Susan Marie Muha of Traver City, Mich.; two step sons, Michael David Shelton of Detriot and Gerald Allan Shelton of Richland, Wash.; two step-daughters, Gloria M. Palmer of Rose Lake and JoAnne Clark of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jim of Ypsilanti, Mich., Retired Missionary John of Phoenix, Ariz., and Pastor Paul of Orange, Calif., three sisters, Mona Cartledge of Waterville, Ohio, Naomi Centeno of Hudson, Fla., and Mary K. Dye of Brookville, Fla.

Norm was preceded in death by their son, Steven; four brothers, Bob, Cecil, Jerry and Billy; two sisters, Kathy Dye and a baby sister.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at the Community Bible Church, 210 Main St., Pinehurst. Military rites will be conducted by the Idaho Army National Guard Honor Guard.

Manon suggests memorials to the Kellogg American Legion on Norm's behalf. Norm will be laid to rest at the Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, Wash., at a later date.

English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d'Alene, is in charge of the arrangements.
