Ruth Capellen, 91

Ruth G. Capellen passed away Jan. 9, 2012, at Life Care Center, Coeur d'Alene. Ma, as we called her, was born July 20, 1920, in Lewisville to Ruben and Geneva Casper.

She moved with her family to Hayden where she later married Raymond Capellen. Ma loved any kind of wild meat her sons would bring her and garage sales with her daughter. She also loved to do jigsaw puzzles and read.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Capellen; her son, Ed Barnes; two brothers, Ralph and Max; a sister, Bess; and two daughters, Irene and Mary.

She is survived by sisters, Cleo Walters of Hayden Lake and Maude Patterson of Seattle; sons, Kent Barnes of Coeur d'Alene and Bill Capellen and (wife) Sydney Capellen of Coeur d'Alene; daughters, Carol Stott of Dalton Gardens and Sharon Belanger and (husband) Ed Belanger of Butte, Mont.; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, and viewing will be held at 9 a.m. at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel, 373 E. Hayden Ave., Hayden. Burial will follow the service at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens and a reception will follow the burial at Yates Hayden Chapel's Gathering Center.
