Plains pulls away from Whitefish in the 2nd half

WHITEFISH - Plains used a big second half to pull away from Whitefish for a 45-25 nonconference girls basketball victory on Thursday.

Ashley Holmes tallied 12 points for Plains and Diamond LeDeaux was next with 11.

Brooke Silliker's six points paced Whitefish. She also pulled down a team high eight rebounds.

LIBBY - Libby outscored Thompson Falls 22-14 in the final half, but the Loggers still fell four points short in the nonconference battle.

Thompson Falls led 25-13 at intermission.

Taylor Quinn led Libby offensively with 13 points.

CORVALLIS - Polson bolted to a 21-10 first period lead and never looked back in topping Southwestern A foe Corvallis.

Riley Kenney paced the Pirates with 16 points in the nonconference contest. Six of those points came in the first eight minutes of action.

Anna DiGiallonardo had 11.

Polson (6-1) scored in double digits in every quarter but the fourth.

Annie Jessop tallied 13 points to lead Corvallis.

Stillwater Christian School improved to 9-1 overall with a nonconference victory over the Glacier JV at SCS.

Stillwater opened the contest with an 11-2 run and led 22-19 at the half.

Morgan Paolini, who was 8-for-10 shooting at the free throw line, led SCS with 18 points and 18 rebounds. She also had five steals.

Jordan Danz added 16 points for the victors. She pulled down seven rebounds.

Kailea Vaudt topped Glacier JV in scoring with 11 points. Katie Wiley had 10.

PLAINS - Whitefish used back-to-back 24-point quarters to blow by Plains in a nonconference contest.

That gave Whitefish a commanding 48-22 lead at intermission.

Cooper Olson and Gage Vasquez tallied 20 and 19 points, respectively, for Whitefish.

Robert Earhart tossed in a team-high 12 points for Plains.

Matt Peters trallied 22 points, 13 coming in the first half, to help the Glacier JV drop Stillwater in a nonconference contest.

Bryan Michaels added 15 points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds for Glacier JV (7-0). Si'cha Tallman tallied 10 points and seven rebounds at SCS.

Stillwater (8-2) was led by Trevor Holladay, 16 points, and Josh Bray, 11.
