Those who haven’t yet bought tickets to see Tim Tebow speak in Kalispell may have missed their chance.

Stillwater Christian School closed ticket sales Friday afternoon, Director of Development Craig Hunnicutt said. That’s just three days after the school announced it had secured the Denver Broncos quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner to speak at its community banquet in March.

“For all practical purposes, tickets and tables are gone,” Hunnicutt said early Friday afternoon.

He estimates there will be about 170 tables at the “For Such A Time As This: An Evening with Tim Tebow” event, which takes place March 7 at the Flathead County Fairgrounds Trade Center. That’s about 1,400 individual seats.

Some of those seats sold for $125 apiece or $1,000 for a table of eight. Special sponsorship tables sold for more, starting at $2,500. Those tables include tickets to a private reception with Tebow before the event and autographed copies of his book, “Through My Eyes.”

In addition to tables, there were 600 to 800 bleacher seats available. Those seats were intended primarily for students and youth groups and sold for $35 each.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the school.

“We may be able to release a few more of the student seats, but we’ve filled just about our max in that venue,” Hunnicutt said. “The last thing we want to do is oversell and find out at the end that we don’t have room after all.”

People interested in attending the event still are calling Stillwater Christian, and Hunnicutt said the school will put people who weren’t able to get tickets on a waiting list in case space opens up at the banquet or in the stands.

“We’re happy to talk to folks and put down names,” he said. “We’re certainly still going to be getting lots of interest.”
