FIREWORKS: All done for Veterans
As the sponsors of the Rathdrum New Year's Eve Fireworks Show, we here at Edge Home Roofing LLC, DavesBillboard.com and Golden Spike Estates, all from Rathdrum, are very thankful to the ever wonderful George Thayer Family for allowing us to use their field for the show, and - the Idaho State Police, Northern Lakes Fire Department and Rathdrum Police Department for their support in taking the time to have a presence around the surrounding area that captured the attention of countless cars and people to see the very first fireworks show in Rathdrum honoring our wonderful Veterans and wounded soldiers.
Our Vets put their lives on the line for our families. A special thanks and hug to all the families that lost loved ones in the process to gain and protect those freedoms we enjoy today. We as a nation, need to be more thankful for the freedoms that we enjoy today and better realize that Freedom is never free! We all need to remember and ensure we all take our "freedom by sacrifice" with great seriousness and humility.
We also want to thank all the many thousands of people that took the time to come and enjoy this fireworks show of celebration to the Vets and Wounded Soldiers. At the request of many observers, we will soon announce a website on www.Davesbillboard.com that will be dedicated to raise funds to duplicate and expand this fireworks show for 2012 and beyond. Thank you all!
Respectfully,
ROYCE DRIGGS, Edge Home Roofing LLC

TOYS: Thank you contributors
How does one say thank you to more than 160 stores and businesses and hundreds, perhaps thousands of people for their support of our local Marine Corps Toys for Tots program?
A simple "thank you" does not seem adequate. But a sincere, heartfelt thank you is extended to everyone of the businesses which served as collection sites for toys. To each person who contributed a toy or toys and to those who contributed monetarily we say thank you. Through the communities generosity we were privileged to provide new toys and books to 2,645 disadvantaged children this past Christmas.
We are all blessed to live in Kootenai County as it is a most caring and generous community. You make Toys for Tots the successful program it is.

MEALS: Due to generous support
The Post Falls Senior Center opened our doors on Christmas morning to more than 61 volunteers and served more than 130 meals that morning.
The Post Falls Senior Center was hopping with little elfs making sure people felt welcomed, with a warm plate of food, gifts for the kids and everyone left with a little bag of goodies.
We could not have done this without the generous support from the following people: The Post Falls Senior Center Employees (who donated their time), Trading Company of Post Falls, Super 1 Foods of Post Falls, Sysco Foods of Post Falls, The Post Falls Food Bank and the community of Post Falls. These wonderful people donated food and money along with many community members who just stopped off and dropped cash in our special jar.
We would love to name all 61 volunteers (you know who you are), but due to the large list it is too large for this article.
The Post Falls Senior Center will be hosting this event again next year. We are going to start the planning early this year, if interested in helping us out please contact us at (208) 773-9582 or pfsc78@roadrunner.com.
The Post Falls Senior Center thanks everyone involved.
