MOSES LAKE - An Othello man allegedly robbed a Moses Lake coffee stand Saturday morning.

John J. Monday, 25, was booked by Moses Lake police for robbery and possession of stolen property, according to the Moses Lake police.

Monday reportedly approached the Espresso D' Café coffee stand and demanded money from the victim, according to the police. When the victim refused, and started calling 9-1-1, Monday reportedly entered the stand, and tried grabbing the victim, who escaped.

Moses Lake Police Capt. Dave Sands said a small amount of money was taken from the stand.

Monday was allegedly caught later in the day, when a stolen 2004 Ford F-350 pickup was located it in the Knolls Vista area of Moses Lake, Sands said. The truck was originally stolen in Adams County.

"The owners of that truck had been looking for him, and found him in Moses Lake," Sands said. "I believe there's some family relation between the victims and (Monday.) When they found him, they contacted police."

Officers contacted the victim of the earlier robbery, who reportedly linked Monday to the crime, Sands said.
