Libby Greenchain wrestlers triumphed over the Polson Pirates in their match in Polson on Jan. 5, winning 51-33.

The Pirates were defeated in Libby, 57-30, before the holiday break.

This dual proved a little better than the last for the Pirates. However, not enough to walk away with a victory.

Five pins were achieved by Zach Crace, 119-pound weight class; Cody Benefield, 130-pound weight class; Kyle Leir, 145-pound weight class; Austin Bailey, 189-pound weight class, and Gunnar Moe, 215-pound weight class.

The Greenchain benefitted from three of the duals, winning by forfeits.

The 4th Annual tournament of Champions released the results of an All-Class High School Wrestling Poll. The poll was created to recognize the top wrestlers from each weight class in Montana. Classes AA, A, and B through C were included in the poll, among the No. 1 ranked wrestlers was Libby Greenchain Kyle Leir, for the 145-pound weight class.

Friday and Saturday, the Greenchain will travel to Ronan to seek mat victories in the Western “A” Duals.
