BOISE - National Geographic named two of Idaho's wild and scenic rivers, the Jarbidge and Bruneau, a Best Adventure Destinations for 2012. The story touts the rivers' wilderness location, breathtaking scenery and thrilling late-spring whitewater rafting trips. The river canyons also offer challenging fishing, hunting and hiking.

"There is no more remote river system in the lower 48, hands down," says Peter Grubb, owner of the rafting outfitter ROW Adventures. ROW offers a five-day float on the Bruneau and a seven-day trip that combines both rivers.

"These remote rivers are indeed special," says Karen Ballard, Idaho Division of Tourism Administrator. "We are fortunate to have professional outfitters like ROW that can make these natural wonders not only accessible, but fascinating, with their natural history knowledge and backcountry gourmet cuisine."
