COEUR d'ALENE - Hagadone Marine Group will launch a brand-new show for boating enthusiasts this Saturday.

The 15-day Coeur d'Alene Boat Show and Sales Event, to be held Jan. 21 through Feb. 5, will feature 75 boats, including the latest 2012 designs. All told, more than $7.5 million in boats will be on display.

"We will be unveiling nine never-before-seen models from wakeboarding to sports boats to yachts," said Craig Brosenne, general manager of Hagadone Marine Group. "You're going to see some amazing innovations in marine technology. If you love boats and boating, this is where you need to be."

The show is free of charge and open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, and will be located in the Hagadone Marine Group's newly remodeled 15,000-square-foot showroom and 11,000-square-foot service center (formerly Yacht Club Sales & Service). The full-service boating center is on Blackwell Island near Cedar's Floating Restaurant.

The Blackwell Island location gives buyers a chance to test-drive their boat before they buy. People will be encouraged to schedule their test drives for a nice spring day, Brosenne said. Boat choices include Cobalt, Carver, Marquis, Malibu, Axis and Regal as well as a full selection of pre-owned boats.

"Research shows that eight out of 10 buyers want an on-the-water demonstration before they finalize their purchase," Brosenne said. "Here, you can have that demo on beautiful Lake Coeur d'Alene."
