Kalispell's Zach Dickson will be headlining a mixed martial arts bout, Kalispell Kombat, tonight at the Majestic Valley Arena.

Dickson, who coaches at Straight Blast Gym, is 3-0 in his professional career after a posting a 7-0 amateur record. He will be fighting Daniel Swain, of Newport, Wash., in the main event.

Dickson is the current Fight Force featherweight (145 pounds) champion. He hasn't fought since submitting Roy Bradshaw in June. Since turning pro, Dickson has finished all of his fights in less than 1 minute, 48 seconds, submitting all three opponents.

The fight card features 14 fighters from Kalispell and two from Eureka, the most local fighters there's been for an event in town. About 1,000 people are expected to attend.

"It really shows people are starting to get more into the sport," Fight Force promoter Bryan Deats said. "We're expecting a good fight."

Every fight will feature at least one Kalispell athlete. There are 13 scheduled fights ranging in weight classes from 130 pounds to 185 pounds. SBG owner Travis Davison said that while there's pressure for the local fighters to do well, many feed off the energy the hometown fans give them.

"The pressure's on," Davison said. "But a lot of our guys get jacked up for that environment."

Also fighting out of SBG, Gus Nolte, a 185-pounder who is 3-0 in his amateur career, will face Chris Matthews, of Tacoma, Wash. Nolte, a coach at SBG, submitted Anthony Young in 1:26 at the last Kalispell Kombat in April.

Former Flathead wrestler Duran Flaget, who enters the fight at 7-5 in his amateur career, will be fighting at 135 pounds against Canadian brawler Mitch Creighton. Fellow Braves wrestler Mike Kuehne will go up against Eureka's Brad Austin in a 175-pound bout.

Former Columbia Falls wrestler Jarrett Smith, who is 2-0 in his amateur career after knocking out his last opponent in October, will be fighting at 135 pounds against Deer Lodge's DJ Snyder.

In the other fights, Luis Calderon, of Kalispell, will test Leo Shoji, a kickboxer from Lethbridge, Alberta, at 130 pounds. Vinnie Rossi, of Eureka, will fight Kalispell's Mark Fallon at 145 pounds. Tony Best, of Kalispell, will tangle with Kris Putman, of Great Falls, at 145 pounds. Joel Ballad, of Kalispell, will challenge Deer Lodge's Jeremy Sanderson at 155 pounds. Mark Johnson, of Kalispell, will fight Lane Day Chief, of Lethbridge, at 160 pounds.

Kalispell fighters Brent Young and Tyler Sager will meet at 155 pounds. Brandon Bailey, of Kalispell, will meet Matt Konoljnen, of Bozeman, at 175 pounds.

The heaviest fight of the night will be a middleweight (185 pounds) bout between Kalispell's Greg Tatar and Ace Gingerich of Hamilton.

Doors for the event open at 6 p.m., and the first fight begin at 7:30. Tickets for the event cost $20 in presale and $25 at the door.

As part of the promotion for the fight, SBG and Fight Force held a canned food drive to auction off a ringside table at the fights.
