Chiefs finally solve puzzle at Tri-City

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Mac Engel had a season-high 37 saves as the Spokane Chiefs rallied from an early deficit to beat the Tri-City Americans 3-1 at the Toyota Center in front of 4,700 in a Western Hockey League game on Friday.

It was Spokane's first win in Tri-City in four games this season and second victory of the week against the Americans.

Tri-City led 1-0 after two periods, but Collin Valcourt scored his 12th goal of the season on an assist from Connor Chartier to tie the game early in the third period.

Brenden Kitchton scored a power-play goal midway through the period and Dominik Uher capped the scoring on a short-handed goal for Spokane, which was outshot the Ams 38-23.

Spokane (23-14-3-3, 52 points) hosts Portland tonight at 7:05.
