PRICE, Utah - Freshman Keon Lewis had a game-high 23 points and seven assists to lead the 10th-ranked North Idaho Cardinal men's basketball team past the Utah State-Eastern Golden Eagles 74-71 in overtime in Scenic West Athletic Conference play Friday night.

"Any league road win is a good win," NIC coach Jared Phay said. "I was happy with that. If we can get another one tomorrow, it will become a great trip for us."

NIC trailed by seven points with 2:50 remaining before back-to-back 3-pointers by Lewis and sophomore Petar Joksimovic cut the deficit to one point.

Joksimovic missed a shot at the second-half buzzer for NIC (18-1, 4-0 SWAC), which travels to Rangely, Colo., to take on Colorado Northwestern today.

"I think we'll need a better effort against Colorado Northwestern," Phay said. "Eastern outworked us for a majority of the game. But we kept our composure down the stretch and hit some big shots when we needed to."

Michael Middlebrooks had 11 points, 15 rebounds and three blocked shots for NIC.

Eric Hansen and Neveij Walters scored 12 points apiece for Eastern Utah (13-5, 1-3).
