ANNIVERSARIES
Harold and Fern Royal
60th Anniversary
Harold and Fern Royal celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Jan. 13, 2012. They were married on Jan. 13, 1952, in Billings, Mont.
They have one child, Glen Royal, of Kennewick, Wash.; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Harold is the friendly face greeting people as they come into Costco in Coeur d'Alene. His lovely wife, Fern, works for WODS at Costco.
A celebration of their life together was held on Jan. 7, 2012, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Coeur d'Alene.
Denny and Helen Herron
50th Anniversary
Denny S. Herron and Helen L. Frazier were married on Jan. 20, 1962, in Vancouver, Wash.
In 1930, Denny graduated from Fort Vancouver High School in Vancouver. Helen graduated from Hudson's Bay High School in 1961, also from Vancouver.
Their first son, Danny, was born in October 1962, then David was born in October 1963 and James in January 1965. They have three granddaughters.
They lived in Washington state until moving to Post Falls in the spring of 1998.
They have enjoyed doing many things together, such as: Hunting, camping, gardening, woodworking, beading, leather craft, riding ATVs, mountainman rendezvous, cooking and baking.
ENGAGEMENT
Flowers-Wood
George Robinson of Spokane and Cheryl Rickel of Athol are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura J. Flowers to Thomas C.
Wood, both of Post Falls, son of Virginia Wood of Coeur d'Alene.
Laura graduated from North Central High School in 1988 and Carrington College in 2011. She is employed by Inland Neurosurgery and Spine. Thomas graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School in 1981. He is employed by Fred's Appliance.
The couple plans to wed in Coeur d'Alene.
BIRTHS
Kenzlie Lou Maloney was born at 3:05 p.m. Dec. 11, 2011, to Sydney and Logan Maloney of Post Falls. She weighed 6 lbs. 14 oz. and was 19.75 inches long. Siblings are Kelso Beckwith and Kaylin Maloney. Maternal grandparents are Ed and Terry Brown. Paternal grandmother is Kathy Maloney.
Natalie Alaina Smith was born at 7:42 a.m. Jan. 2, 2012, to Krystina Vangutman and Ian Smith of Coeur d'Alene, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene. She weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz. and was 21 inches long. Siblings are Kaydence, 5, and Kendall, 3. Maternal grandparents are Peter Vangutman and Tara Beering of Coeur d'Alene, and Angel Hoerner of Columbia Falls, Mont. Paternal grandparents are Susan Smith of Rathdrum, and Duane and Jan Smith of Buckley, Wash.
Charles Henry Latimer was born at 7:34 p.m. Jan. 4, 2012, to Joann and Brendan Latimer of Post Falls. He weighed 8 lbs. 2 oz. and was 21 inches long. Sister is Chloe Latimer. Maternal grandparents are Chuck and Sonja Revel of Aberdeen, Wash., and Debi Seaburg of Belfair, Wash. Paternal grandmother is Camilla Puetz of LaCenter, Wash.
Khloe Mae Matthews was born at 8:02 p.m. Jan. 5, 2012, to Samantha Jo Santiago and Robert Joseph Matthews of Coeur d'Alene. He weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. and was 20 inches long. Sister is Sophia Marie Matthews. Maternal grandparents are Cathy Rogel and Jesus Rogel. Paternal grandparents are Rhonda Stanton and Clayton Stanton.
Brylee Douglas Johns was born at 6:26 a.m. Jan. 9, 2012, to Christina Rae Dodge and Blake Douglas Johns of Coeur d'Alene. He weighed 6 lbs. 15 oz. and was 19 inches long. Sister is Zoey Marie Caron. Maternal grandparents are Nicole Maggio and Mike Dodge. Paternal grandparents are Natalie Lind and Doug Johns.
MILITARY
Navy Fireman Andrew K. Henrikson, son of Lynn and Scott W. Henrikson of Rathdrum, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
During the eight-week program, Henrikson completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.
Henrikson is a 2011 graduate of Lakeland High School in Rathdrum.
