Not so leisurely drive leaves mailboxes damaged

A "bunch of mailboxes" on Leisure Drive, possibly as many as 18 according to one caller, were damaged late Saturday night when a vehicle slid out of control on the ice and hit the boxes.
The incident was investigated Sunday by the Kalispell Police Department and ruled accidental.
Sunday afternoon, a second burglary in as many days was reported at a home on East Wyoming Street. The woman said someone broke in Saturday night. But when she left and came home on Sunday it looked like someone had come back and trashed her house again.
Four juveniles stopped at Market Place Street and First Avenue East North at about 2 a.m. Sunday told police they were headed home.
A caller on Seventh Avenue West told police that her neighbors were smoking marijuana and her apartment smelled like it.
Late Saturday night, someone reported seeing an SUV spinning around in the grass near Kalispell Middle School.
Earlier on Saturday, a woman on College Avenue told police her boyfriend threatened to hit the dog with a hammer, and came at her with the hammer, but did not hit anyone. The man later put the hammer back in the drawer.
A caller on East Idaho Street said an intoxicated woman was giving security a hard time.
A man allegedly left a grocery store without paying for four bags of groceries.
A woman told police she got a strange call from her neighbor while she was driving on Columbia Falls Stage Road. He called and said his key was in the cup holder in her car, but she has had no contact with him or driven him anywhere in months. She wanted to know how his key got into her cup holder and to report the man as being strange.
A woman on Greatview Drive told police that someone had unlocked her truck and removed the registration and insurance cards.
A man on Fourth Avenue West reported his wife missing several times throughout the day Saturday.
A caller at a store on U.S. 93 reported a theft. The caller said a group of people took off running when the alarm went off as they were leaving the store.
An electrical box on the east side of a building at Sunny View Lane and Windward Way briefly caught on fire and then went out.
Saturday morning, a caller on Columbia Mountain Court asked the Columbia Falls Police Department to talk to kids sledding down the hill before someone got hurt or run over by a car.
A theft on U.S. 93 was reported to the Whitefish Police Department on Saturday morning.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office arrested someone for driving under the influence on U.S. 93 early Saturday morning.
Someone was cited for partner family member assault on B Street.
Someone was cited for driving while suspended or revoked when the Polson Police Department responded to an accident with property damage at First Street East and Seventh Avenue East on Saturday morning.
Later Saturday, someone was arrested for a parole violation during a traffic stop at U.S. 93 and Main Street.
