May elections for local fire districts
Hungry Horse News | Hagadone News Network | UPDATED 13 years, 2 months AGO
Voters in the Columbia Falls area will receive mail-in ballots in April for a May 8 election involving five fire district boards:
• Badrock - two 3-year positions.
• Blankenship - one 3-year position.
• Columbia Falls - one 3-year position and one 1-year position.
• Coram-West Glacier - two 3-year positions.
• Martin City - two 3-year positions.
Anyone interested in running for these positions needs at least five registered voters in that district to sign a nomination petition. Deadline to file is Feb. 23.
If only one person files for a position, that person will be declared the winner, and there will be no election for that position.
