with a 62-37 victory over Hot Springs on Saturday. Behind

double-digit scoring by three different Scarlets, Arlee had the

game in hand early and never gave it up.

HOT SPRINGS - Arlee won its third district game of the season with a 62-37 victory over Hot Springs on Saturday. Behind double-digit scoring by three different Scarlets, Arlee had the game in hand early and never gave it up.

The Scarlets jumped out to a 22-8 lead in the first quarter, and went into halftime with a 32-22 lead. In the third quarter, Arlee went on a 20-10 run to put things on ice, then held Hot Springs to just five points in the fourth quarter.

Alexis Shick continued to show herself as one of the Scarlets' premier players with 21 points and Whitney Malatare sped her way to 16 points. Post Mahalia Hendren scored 10 for Arlee.

That put Arlee's record to 4-5 overall on the season after a Friday night loss to Superior.

Superior had jumped out to a significant lead in the first half, and then put the gas on in the third quarter en route to a 75-44 victory.

The Lady Bobcats led 37-24 at halftime and then came out with a 21-4 run to start the second half, cruising to victory. Alexis Shick scored 18 points and Mahala Hendren had 12 points in the contest.

Arlee will now host Loyola on Thursday, travel to Victor on Friday and then host St. Regis on Sunday.
