Betty Mudge, 81

Betty Mudge, 81, resident of Coeur d'Alene, died Jan. 25, 2012, at the North Idaho Hospice House on Prairie Avenue. Betty was born Dec. 23, 1930, in Philipsburg, Pa., to John and Irene (Barber) Maruschak.
They moved to this area in the early 1940s with her family and lived here since. Betty worked at the Playland Pier in her youth, later as a teller at Idaho First National Bank on Fourth Street, then in the Bakery Department at Albertson's, clerked at Sprouse-Reitz Store, then worked 31 years at Kootenai Memorial Center retiring from the Central Supply Department. Her passion was shopping for Christmas year-around.
Betty is survived by two sons, Jerry of Spokane Valley and Steve of Rathdrum; one daughter, Michele Maiuri of Tacoma, Wash.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

At Betty's request, there will be no services. English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene, is entrusted with her care.
