Peck, Robertson pace Valkyries over Whitefish

BIGFORK - Taylor Peck scored 14 points and Tessa Robertson pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds as No. 5-ranked Bigfork rolled past Whitefish 44-24 in nonconference girls basketball play on Thursday.

Bigfork (12-2 overall) led 13-3 and 21-9 after the first two quarter stops.

Bigfork outscored Whitefish (1-11) in the second half 23-15 to pull away.

Peck also totaled eight steals and five assists.

Ashley Brewer shared scoring honors for Whitefish with Simone Craft. Both finished with seven points.

LIBBY - Haley Belgarde led a balanced Columbia Falls attack with 14 points as the Wildkats upended Libby in Northwestern A action.

Columbia Falls (4-9, 2-3 league) also had Hope Burlage and Madison Sandefer in double-figure scoring with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Taylor Quinn tallied 12 points for Libby (1-11, 0-4).

STEVENSVILLE - In a battle of ranked Class A teams, No. 2 Stevensville defeated No. 5 Polson in a nonconference contest.

Southwestern A Stevensville outscored Northwestern A Polson 28-14 in the second half to put it away.

Stevensville (9-2) was led by Kyla Paulsen, 16 points.

Riley Kenney paced Polson (9-3) with 16 points.
