No. 21 Gaels hold off LMU

Stephen Holt scored 19 points to lead No. 21 Saint Mary's to a 68-60 victory over Loyola Marymount on Thursday night at Los Angeles.

The win was the 11th straight for the Gaels (20-2, 9-0 WCC) over Loyola, dating to 2005-06.

Drew Viney had 18 points for the Lions (12-9, 5-3), who led by seven points before managing just one field goal over the final 5:10 of the first half.

San Francisco 90, Santa Clara 77: At Santa Clara, Calif., Angelo Caliaro scored 20 points and the Dons (14-9, 4-5 WCC) beat Santa Clara (8-12, 0-7).

San Diego 65, Pepperdine 56: At San Diego, Dennis Kramer scored 14 points and Christopher Anderson added 13 to lead San Diego (8-12, 3-5) past the Waves (7-13, 1-8 West Coast Conference).

Washington 60, Arizona State 54: At Tempe, Ariz., Tony Wroten scored 22 points and ended a pair of rallies with three-point plays, lifting Washington (13-7, 6-2 Pac-12) past Arizona State (6-14, 2-6).

UCLA 76, Utah 49: At Los Angeles, Joshua Smith scored 14 points, Jerime Anderson and David Wear added 13 apiece, and the Bruins (11-9, 4-4) routed the Utes (5-15, 2-6 Pac-12).

Colorado 74, Southern California 50: At Los Angeles, Andre Robertson had 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Colorado (14-6, 6-2) used a balanced scoring attack to beat the Trojans (5-16, 0-8 Pac-12).

Louisiana Tech 59, Fresno State 58: At Ruston, La., Brandon Gibson dropped in the game-winning layup with 2 seconds left to lift Louisiana Tech (11-10, 3-3) past Fresno State (9-13, 1-5 Western Athletic Conference).

Utah State 77, Hawaii 72: At Logan, Utah, Preston Medlin scored 25 points to lead five Aggies in double-figures as Utah State (11-10, 3-3) topped Hawaii (11-9, 3-3 WAC).

Nevada 68, New Mexico State 60: At Las Cruces, N.M., Deonte Burton scored 17 points and Nevada (17-3, 6-0) beat New Mexico State (14-7, 4-2 WAC).

Montana State 70, Portland State 65: At Portland, Ore., former Post Falls High standout Shawn Reid came off the bench to score 15 points and grab eight rebounds, and the Bobcats (11-8, 6-2 Big Sky Conference) beat the Vikings (10-10, 4-4).

No. 7 North Carolina 74, North Carolina State 55: At Chapel Hill, N.C., Tyler Zeller had 21 points and a career-best 17 rebounds to help North Carolina (17-3, 4-1) beat North Carolina State (15-6, 4-2 Atlantic Coast Conference).

No. 14 Florida 64, Mississippi 60: At Oxford, Miss., Patric Young scored 15 points, Kenny Boynton added 12 and Florida (16-4, 4-1) rallied from a double-digit first-half deficit to beat Mississippi (13-7, 3-3 Southeastern Conference).

No. 25 Wisconsin 57, No. 16 Indiana 50: At Madison, Wis., Ben Brust scored 13 points and Wisconsin (17-5, 6-3) continued its recent rebound in the Big Ten by beating Indiana (16-5, 4-5).

No. 19 Virginia 66, Boston College 49: At Charlottesville, Va., Mike Scott scored 18 points and Virginia pulled away from a 44-all tie with a 22-3 run and beat Boston College (7-13, 2-4).

The victory was just the second in the last seven games against the Eagles for the Cavaliers (16-3, 3-2 ACC).
