Alene (Potter) Strinz, 91

Alene was born July 27, 1920, in Coeur d'Alene and was named after the scenic Lake Coeur d'Alene. She made her transition on Jan. 26, 2012. She was born and lived in the Lewiston area until she was 7 when the family moved to Southern California.

Alene grew up in the San Gabriel Valley Area. She met her husband Ivan L. Strinz and they were married in January 1939 in Rosemead, Calif., at the Strinz family home. They were married for 60 years before Ivan passed away in 1999.

Alene graduated from Alhambra H.S. in June 1939 and settled into being a homemaker and stay-at-home mom to raise and guide her two sons, Jim and Jack. During her time on planet Earth; she had became an accomplished artist, graduate Theologian, licensed Real Estate agent and Practitioner Emeritus for the First Church of Religious Science. She also taught English to foreign speaking grade school children and was active in "The Club," a group of high school girls who got together once a month starting in 1939 through the year 2000.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Bertha Potter; one brother, Kurt; one sister, Doreen McDaniels; her son, Jack (age 12) and her husband, Ivan.

Alene is survived by her sister, Jeanette Woerner of Oakhurst, Calif.; her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Kathie Strinz of Hayden; grandchildren, Jamie Ho of Kailua, Hawaii, Douglas Strinz of Hilo, Hawaii, and Keri Denney of Honolulu, Hawaii.
