Ruth N. Dunn, 90, died in Sequim, Wash., on Jan. 21, 2012. She was born May 6, 1921, in Pocatello to Albert and Alma (Pilert) Nichols.
She was raised and schooled in Rexburg and Pocatello, graduating from high school in Boise. She attended the N.Y.A. Vocation School in Weiser in 1941 and was married to Edwin Westover on Jan. 17, 1942, in Burley.
In 1942 they moved to Vancouver, Wash., and then to Colville, Wash., in 1950. They settled in Moses Lake in 1953 and Mr. Westover preceded her in death in 1954. After his death, Ruth moved to Coeur d'Alene and was married to Charles Park Dunn on July 5, 1956, in Coeur d'Alene. They made their home in Kellogg until 1984 and then moved back to Coeur d'Alene. They moved to Post Falls in 1986 and returned to Coeur d'Alene in 1993. Charles died in 1996 and Ruth moved to Sequim in 2006.
She is survived by sons, Larry P. Dunn of Longmont, Colo., and Dr. Glen Westover of Omaha, Neb.; daughters, Laura Walls of Oak Harbor, Wash., Ellen Decker of Sequim and Linda Chilson of Genesee; 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Nichols in 1995; her sister, Helen Harris in 1989; a daughter, Vera Kleinsmith in 1983; and a grandson, Scott Chilson in 2011.
The funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Coeur d'Alene Stake on Fourth Street. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
