Wilma Gertrude Blum, 85, passed away quietly Jan. 26, 2012, at Legacy House Assisted Living in Post Falls. Wilma was born July 8, 1926, to Mary and William Sellers at the Providence Hospital in Wallace.

She was raised on her family farm, the Sellers Dairy, where she helped deliver milk on the way to school with her older brother Kenneth. She attended grade school and high school in Wallace, graduating in 1945.

After graduation, she worked for the Coeur d'Alene hardware in Wallace. She met her future husband, Robert Blum, and married him on Aug. 1, 1948. She was a homemaker and mother for the first 13 years of their marriage, enjoying sewing, dancing with her husband and camping with her family.

Wilma and Bob opened up their own business in 1960, Blum's Flower Shop in Osburn and continued to operate the business until 1993. She and Bob moved to Coeur d'Alene that year. Bob passed away the following year, but they enjoyed boating and gardening together. Wilma continued to enjoy gardening and traveling with the Rambling Rovers in her retirement years.

She was preceded in death by her father, William; mother Mary; brother Kenneth; sister Myrtle and husband Bob.

She is survived by her three children, daughter Colette of Coeur d'Alene, son Bob Jr. and daughter-in-law Paula of Tualatin, Ore., and son Steve and daughter-in-law Fran of Spokane. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Grandson Kevin Blum of Seattle, and Granddaughters Kris Blum of San Francisco, Stephanie Magill of Seattle and Becky Clark of Beaverton, Ore. She is leaving two great-grandchildren, Ella and Riley Magill of Seattle; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no memorial service at her request. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene, with a graveside service to be determined.
