Adam Johnson is running for Kootenai County Sheriff, he told The Press over the weekend.
Johnson, 27, was involved in a near fatal shooting in downtown Coeur d'Alene in 2009 in which two men were injured. Charges against him were later dismissed. In a separate incident, Johnson was sentenced earlier this month to two years probation after pleading guilty to felony heroin possession.
It's the first run at the top position in the sheriff's office for the North Idaho businessman and former Post Falls Chamber of Commerce board member.
