MILESTONE BIRTHDAY

Patricia Stevenson

100th Birthday

Patricia Stevenson will mark her 100th birthday here in Coeur d'Alene on July 16, 2012. Her family of 20-plus came in from Seattle and Colorado for a weeklong party. "Pat," better known as "Beach Grandma," was born in Barrow in Furness, England, with humble beginnings. Then at age 17 she sailed to Ellis Island, N.Y. She tried out for the Rockettes, entered beauty contests and held some odd jobs during the Depression era.

Then in 1941 she married a U.S. Serviceman, Charles Stevenson, in Panama. She went on to live the American Dream in California.

She is not your typical prim and proper English-American lady, but is a lady nonetheless. She enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling, playing cards, riding ATV motorcycles, slot machines and she even drove a red 1969 Camaro. She is beautiful, caring, generous and funny.

Two daughters, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren later, we honor this amazing woman. We are so proud and thankful for her!

We will be walking the boardwalk on Monday, July 16, 2012; it will be sort of a family parade. If you see us, stop and say hello.
