The Glacier Twins’ woes continued last week as they failed to get a win at the Sapa-Johnsrud Tournament.

The Twins’ tightest game came Saturday when the Kalispell Lakers edged them in the final game of the tournament, 9-7. The Twins took an early 5-0 lead in the bottom of the third, but the Lakers scored six in the top of the fourth.

The Twins tied it 7-7 in the bottom of the fifth, but the Lakers added a run in the sixth and another in the seventh to secure the win. Jeremy Nielsen, Bryce Wehrli and Peter Seymour all had doubles in the loss for the Twins.

On June 29, the Twins lost 10-1 to the Spokane Cannons and 15-0 to the Chino, Calif., Reds. The Twins had just three hits against the Cannons.

The Twins opened the tourney June 28 with a loss to the Club Spokane Dodgers 16-2 in a game that was called after five innings. The Dodgers scored 15 runs in the first two innings to seal the victory.

On June 27, the Twins lost to the Lakers 11-10. The game was tied at five runs apiece after three innings. Kalispell led 11-7 going into the bottom of the ninth, and the Twins rallied with three runs in the bottom of the inning, but they couldn’t get the tying run across the plate even with the bases loaded and just one out. Cory Davis led the Twins with a double and two RBIs.

The Twins are now 6-27-1 and didn’t get a win in the month of June.
