SANDPOINT - If you waited too long, you're probably kicking yourself.

The Festival at Sandpoint announced that tickets to its Aug. 3 concert starring Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas sold out last week, more than a month before the show, breaking all previous records for advance sales.

"The earliest we had sold out a festival concert previously was 10 days in advance for Lyle Lovett in 2007," said Festival Executive Director Dyno Wahl. "We are so pleased by the response to this concert and absolutely blown away by how fast the tickets sold."

Wahl expects more sellouts in the near future and urges fans to act now to assure tickets are available to other Festival concerts including Ladysmith Black Mambazo & Johnny Clegg, Barenaked Ladies, Pink Martini, Counting Crows, Kenny Loggins, and the Grand Finale with complimentary wine tasting.

"We went all out to book a season worthy of our 30th year celebration and festival fans have responded by breaking all records for ticket sales so far," Wahl said. "Of course we hope this pace continues because we spent more on this special lineup this year, so we also need to make more this year to cover the costs."

The Festival at Sandpoint's annual summer concert series draws approximately 20,000 people annually from Sandpoint and the surrounding region including Washington, Montana, Oregon, Canada and beyond, for two weeks of eclectic concerts under the stars, on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille.

Concert tickets are available by calling (208) 265-4554 or online at www.FestivalAtSandpoint.com.
