Ronald Eggart, 91

Ronald Everet Eggart was born May 10, 1921, in Lewiston, Idaho, to parents Jesse and Violet Eggart.
He grew up near Hauser Lake, Idaho, and graduated from Post Falls High School in 1939. Following high school Ron attended North Idaho College and the University of Idaho, but left to serve in the U.S. Army Transportation Corp in Europe from 1942 to 1945.
Upon returning from the war Ron graduated from the University of Idaho with a bachelor of science degree in business.
Ron worked as a certified public accountant in Kellogg for over 50 years until he retired.
Ron served as secretary or treasurer of numerous mining companies in the Silver Valley and was instrumental in several mergers and acquisitions.
He was a persistent promoter of the Silver Valley and firmly believed the future would be better than today.
Ron served in many organizations within the community including as president of Kiwanis, treasurer of the Kellogg Chamber of Commerce, Kellogg cemetery district, Kellogg museum, Gideons, and member of United Church of Kellogg serving as trustee for 32 years.
Ron loved the outdoors, and spent hours hiking and hunting in the mountains. He also enjoyed time with the family at Hauser Lake.
Ron is survived by wife Margaret Eggart, of Coeur d’Alene, sons Gary of Amherst, Texas, and Dan, of Miami; daughter Carol Knopp, of Moses Lake, Wash., and 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren, sister Kathryn Eachon of Rathdrum, Idaho, and Gordon Eggart, of Priest River.
Ron was a wonderful nurturing father, grandfather and husband and he will be missed greatly.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Violet Eggart, of Post Falls, brother Warren Eggart, of Walla Walla, Wash., and daughter Mary Ann Palmer, of Dalton Gardens.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday July 5, 2012, at Mountain View Congregational Church, 525 W. Cameron Ave., in Kellogg.
