COEUR d’ALENE — The city of Coeur d’Alene and Lake City Development Corp. will enter into a contractual agreement to ensure both parties are on the same page before work begins on the McEuen Field project.

The six-page contract, which contains liability, timeline and financial obligations on the estimated $14.2 million project, will go before the General Services Committee at noon on Monday in the Community Room of the public library.

It will go to the City Council the following week for approval.

LCDC pledged to finance up to $11.5 million for the park upgrade.

Contingencies, such as ensuring the money only goes toward public improvements in the park, are part of the proposed the contract.

“It’s basically to put both parties on the same page,” said Keith Erickson, LCDC spokesman, on the reason for the written agreement. “They want to make sure that with this kind of money everything is spent as it should be.”
