Anita Gray of Bozeman passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, in Kalispell after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family, with her hands resting on her Bible.

Anita was born in Livingston on May 16, 1944, to Glenn and Lucille Jones.

She attended local schools, graduating from Park High in 1962.

After high school, Anita began working for the National Park Service in Yellowstone National Park before transferring to Rocky Mountain National Park, where she met her future husband, Bob Gray. They were married in Livingston in 1965 and lived in Colorado for a few years before they moved back to Livingston to raise their two children.

Anita was an accomplished musician, playing the piano and organ each Sunday morning at the Methodist Church in Livingston for many years before moving to Helena and Bozeman. As a young girl and into her teen years, Anita regularly sang for Sunday services with her sisters, Eunice and Lois, and brother Woody. Until her death, Anita was employed at Montana State University and was an avid Bobcat fan.

Anita deeply loved her entire family and considered each of the grandchildren as “special” blessings which so enriched her life. Nothing was more important to Anita than spending time with family. Over the past few weeks, Anita’s family wore rally T-shirts with bold lettering, Team Gram, and “We're Gonna Love You Thru It!” in their support and love of her.

Anita is survived by her daughter Bekki Hashley, her husband Doug, and grandchildren Holli, Emilee, Cassi, and Jaxen, all of Kalispell; her son Ken Gray of Havre, and wife Jennifer, and grandchildren Kalei and Trace; her mother, Lucille Jones, of Livingston; sisters, Eunice Petrich of Paradise Valley, and Lois Thurlow of Livingston; two brothers, Woody of Poulsbo, Wash., and Bruce of Livingston; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Anita was preceded in death by her father Glenn Jones, and her brother Harlan Jones.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held  at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, at Grace United Methodist Church in Livingston.
