Heritage hoops
The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce will host the Heritage Days 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on Saturday, July 28, in downtown Columbia Falls. Categories include grades 5-6, 7-8 and 9-12 boys and girls divisions and a men’s open. Games will begin at 8 a.m. with check-in at 7:30 a.m. Registration deadline is July 26. Forms may be picked up at Orthopedic Rehab or Glacier Bank, both on the U.S. 2 strip, or online at www.cfallsheritagedays.com.
C-Falls XC Cruise Run
The third annual Columbia Falls 6K cruise run will take place at the Columbia Falls High School track on Saturday, July 21, starting at 9 a.m. The run is a fundraiser for the school’s cross-country team. Runners can register the day of the race from 7 to 8:30 a.m. or pre-register by downloading a race entry from the race calendar online at www.runmt.com and mailing it to the provided address. Cross-country camp
The Columbia Falls High School cross-country program will hold a mini camp on Thursday and Friday, July 19-20, from 7 to 9 a.m. Meet at the high school track. Whitefish Mountain Resort’s post-season uphill policy expired last week, but with significant snowfall and changing weather conditions, the resort reminds skier and hikers that avalanche hazards in the ski area’s permitted boundaries do exist.
