FOURTH: Chamber, city deserve kudos
The following is a letter about the July 4 event. We think the city and the chamber should get some recognition for a great job!
"We want to give a "shout out" to the city of Coeur d'Alene and to the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce for the fabulous job that was executed this year on Independence day. We are really blessed to have one of the best fireworks displays in the United States for a town our size, and this year we thought the event was better than ever. In our opinion, the planning, organization and the execution of the whole event, from the actual fireworks display, to the food and other vendors, the crowd control, and especially the security and traffic control, was just FABTABULOUS. The chamber and the city parks department did a great job putting the food and craft vendor area together, and the entertainment and whole presentation in the early part of the day after the parade was just great.
We especially want to give a big shout out to all of the law enforcement agencies involved with the crowd control and traffic management. On behalf of the staff and management of Domino's Pizza, we want to particularly thank the Coeur d'Alene Police Department for the great job they did, both in managing the security and the control of the huge crowd at the fireworks display, and especially for their help and cooperation in letting our delivery drivers get through all of the traffic blockades to get pizza to our vendor booth all day and night long, right up until the fireworks started! They are the best!"
