ANNIVERSARIES
Jerry and Jutta Callander
50th Anniversary
On July 7, 2012, Jerry and Jutta Callander celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
They met and were married in Harrogate, England. Jerry was stationed there while serving in the military and Jutta was working as a housekeeper. They have worked hard all their lives and are now retired. They have raised three sons, Clifford, William and Marvin; and five grandchildren.
Thanks for everything Mom and Dad. We love you.

John and Angela Cross
50th Anniversary
John and Angela Cross, residents of Post Falls, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception at the Highlands Grill and Tap House.
One hundred family and friends were present to celebrate their Golden Anniversary. The guests included children, grandchildren and siblings.
Traveling from Southern California, their son, John Cross Jr. and grandson, Johnny. Their daughter, Michelle Irwin, and grandchildren, Ian and Cory Irwin. Also attending, sisters, Helen Martin Ippolito and Lou Michaels from Dallas, Texas; and brother Andrew B. Ippolito traveling from Maryland. Sister, Rose Ippolito Goe from Tennessee was unable to attend but with us in spirit.
Following the Champagne Toast to the Golden Couple, Mistress of Ceremonies, Ms. Irwin spoke on behalf of her brother, John Jr., in welcoming and thanking those present for the generosity and friendship extended to their parents during their 13 years in Idaho.
Bill and Linda Haughton
45th Anniversary
Bill and Linda Haughton celebrated their 45th anniversary on July 14, 2012. They were married in Coeur d'Alene and have lived here ever since.
They have three children, Tom of Coeur d'Alene, Joe (Verinda) of Athol and Becky (Brian) Basham of Coeur d'Alene. They have two grandchildren, Devyn Basham and Nathan of Athol.
Bill graduated from I.H.M. and Linda from Lakeland in Rathdrum.
Gene and Loretta Reed
45th Anniversary
Gene and Loretta Reed celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary July 8, 2012. They were married in Philadelphia, Pa., on July 8, 1967.
They met in Philadelphia while Gene was attending AB School at the U.S. Navy Shipyard. Gene was in the Navy until August 1969 making several Southeast Asia tours on the USS Kitty Hawk during the Vietnam conflict.
They lived in various cities in Southern California and moved to North Idaho in 1989 (13th move) and have lived in Post Falls since 1991.
Gene and Loretta have one daughter, Jo-Lee Reed-Niblock who lives in Boston, Mass., with her husband, Ross.
ENGAGEMENTS
Brunn-Davis
Katie Brunn and Ian Davis are happy to announce their engagement, following a surprise proposal at Mont Saint-Michel on the French coast. They met seven years ago at a family wedding. Katie and Ian look forward to celebrating their wedding with family and friends Saturday, July 21, 2012, at an outdoor ceremony at Rosario Resort on Orcas Island.
Katie graduated from Lake City High School, Coeur d'Alene, in 1998 and the University of Idaho. She graduated with a degree in interior architecture and is employed with NBBJ architecture firm in Seattle where she and Ian reside. Katie is the daughter of Robert and Kitty Brunn.
Ian, from Concord, Calif., attended Oregon State University and graduated with a Master of Science degree in nuclear engineering. He is an engineer with Transpire Inc. in Gig Harbor, Wash. He is the son of Diane and Mack Davis.
Johnson-Rogers
Jenna Johnson and Daniel Rogers announce their engagement and plans for a Friday, July 27, 2012, wedding at Coeur d'Alene Bible Church.
Jenna is the daughter of Doug and Sally Johnson of Coeur d'Alene. Daniel is the son of Zane and Jeri Rogers of Howe, Ind.
Jenna graduated from Lake City High School in 2009 and has since received her associate's degree in theology from Calvary Chapel Bible College. She is currently pursuing a business degree from North Idaho College and is employed at Wolf Lodge Steakhouse and Fire Artisan Pizza.
Daniel graduated in 2007 from Sand Lake Christian Academy in Indiana and received a bachelor's degree in biblical studies from Calvary Chapel Bible College in 2011. He is currently pursuing a degree in nursing.
The couple plan to reside in Coeur d'Alene, following an Alaskan cruise honeymoon.
Nichols-Molitor
Terry and Tana Nichols of Post Falls are proud to announce the upcoming wedding of their daughter, Taryn Nichols, to Jeffrey Molitor of Pocatello.
Taryn attended Lakeland High School and is an Idaho State University graduate, with a degree in community health education. She works as a Family Support Coordinator for the ICARE Program of St. Vincent de Paul.
Jeff is the son of David and Mary Kay of Pocatello. He is an Idaho State University graduate, with a degree in electrical engineering. Jeff is employed at KeyTronic.
They are planning a Saturday, July 28, 2012, wedding in Clayton, Wash.
Slate-Turley
Steve and Lori Slate of Coeur d'Alene are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Shannon Lynette Slate, to Shane Benjamin Turley, both of Post Falls, son of Marcy E. Kievman (deceased Aug. 17, 2005) and Henry B. Turley (deceased June 19, 2002).
Shannon graduated from Toni & Guy Hair dressing academy in 2009. She is a hair dresser at Great Clips. Shane graduated from IBEW Local 73 in 2011. He is an electrician for the union.
They plan to marry in July 2013 in Coeur d'Alene.

Barbara Ann "Cartwright" Mitchell
80th Birthday
July 7, 1932, Barbara Ann "Cartwright" Mitchell was born to Marvin L and Sarah "Ness" Cartwright at home on Locust Avenue in Coeur d'Alene. She has one brother, Walter (Linda); four children, Jeanne (Paul) Day of Knox, Ind., Robert (Carolyn) of Coeur d'Alene, James (Gloria) Mitchell of Rathdrum and Kathy Ann Mitchell.
Barbara has six grandchildren, Steven Moos of Iowa, Sarah Mitchell of Post Falls, Korban of Fort Sill, Okla., Jeff Mitchell-Rojas of Coeur d'Alene, Emily Day of Indiana, Kyle Mitchell of Charlotte, N.C., Allison Dupsyk of California, Tanner Dupsyk of Coeur d'Alene and James Thomas of Rathdrum; two great-grandsons, Hunter and Alex Moos; and great-granddaughter Isabella Breitkreutz.
Barbara joined the USAF stationed at McClellan AFB, Sacramento, Calif., where she met and married Sgt. Benjamin Mitchell in Reno, Nev., in 1954. They traveled the USA with their family returning

Her birthday was in attendance by SO MANY wonderful family and friends from all over including sisters-in-law, Margaret and Marilyn from Wichita, Kan., Jeanne, Emily Day and her fiance Nate Moldrem, Steve Moos, Sarah Mitchell and her daughter Isabella, Jeff Mitchell, Walt (Linda) Cartwright, Richard (Rene) Cartwright, Dennis Kammeyer, Patty Collins and family, Pat and Joe Hurrell, and many more!
Barbara enjoyed seeing everyone very much. The family thanks each of you for attending Barbara's amazing milestone. We love you Barbara Ann!
Kathy Ator
70th Birthday
Happy 70th Birthday Mom!
Kathy Ator will celebrate her 70th birthday with friends and family Saturday, July 28, 2012, in Post Falls. She will be joined by her only sister, Patty Ray and her nephew, Jeremy Ray of Placerville Calif.; her sons, Mitch Crowden, Ken Ator and Erik Ator; daughters, Cathi Ator, Sarah Valverde and Anna Galten; along with all of her sons- and daughters-in-law; her 10 grandchildren and her four great-grandchildren; as well as many friends from Montana, Idaho and Washington, will also be joining in on the festivities.
Born July 30, 1942, Kathy grew up in Placerville. After many years and many moves across the Western United States she has called Post Falls her home for the past 15 years. Kathy still works full time as an electronics solderer and assembly technician. In her spare time Kathy can be found in her garden. She has an enormous heart and is always there for her family.
We love you mom. Congratulations on an amazing 70 years. Here's to another 30...at least.

Harper Grace Spriggs was born Oct. 12, 2011, to Jessie M. Jenkins and Harold W. Spriggs of Hayden at Kootenai Medical Center. She weighed 9 lbs. Maternal grandparents are Gary and Kathy Jenkins. Paternal grandparents are Harriet and Roger Spriggs.
Henry Miles Vieth was born at 7:39 a.m. June 17, 2012, to Patricia and Nicolas Vieth of Coeur d'Alene. He weighed 6 lbs. 10 oz. and was 20.25 inches long. Brother is Audun. Maternal grandparents are David and Barbara Knoll. Paternal grandparents are Ellen Vieth and Todd Vieth.
Matthew Josiah Ferguson was born at 7:37 a.m. June 18, 2012, to Shannon P. and Scott W. Furguson of Kellogg. He weighed 7 lbs. and was 20 inches long. Sisters are Alexandra Blessinger and Olivia Ferguson. Brother is Scottie Ferguson. Maternal grandfather is Lloyd Roath. Paternal grandmother is Janice Routt.
Taloula Leon Comstock was born at 8:42 a.m. July 4, 2012, to Angela and Chad Comstock of Hayden. She weighed 8 lbs. 9 oz. and was 21.25 inches long. Sister is Kylie Comstock. Maternal grandparents are Kitty and Dan Johnson, and Jim and Val Thurman. Paternal grandparents are Vickie Statton and Lonnie Comstock.
