COEUR d'ALENE - Tickets remain on sale for the second Hoedown dinner and auctions on July 28 to benefit the nonprofit Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).
The fundraiser at 5803 W. Riverview Drive at Settler's Creek off U.S. 95 near Coeur d'Alene is 5-10 p.m. Cost is $75 per person and tickets can be reserved by calling 667-9165 or sending an email to sandra.gunn@northidahocasa.com.
The event features a five-course, country-style gourmet dinner, including ribs, chicken and corn; live and silent auctions; appetizers; complimentary beer and wine; covered carriage rides; music by Strictly Business; dancing; and a horseshoe contest.
The Hoedown is one of CASA's two fundraisers during the year.
"It's a fun party and everyone wanted to do it again because we had so much fun last year," said Pat Volkar, CASA board member, adding that $60,000 was raised last year. "It's a beautiful hillside location that's been converted from an old berry farm to an event center."
Fundraiser proceeds are used to train and recruit advocates.
Advocates of the nonprofit formed in 1991 are ordered by a judge and recruited from the community to represent youth in the five northern counties through the child protection process.
To get to Settler's Creek, take a right on Upriver off U.S. 95 while heading south of Coeur d'Alene.
